Misconception # 1 This would be nice if it were true but unfortunately it's not.
In our industry, like others, we have our share of what we call "bait & switch" type companies.
You have probably received coupons in the mail by companies claiming to clean for $5.95 per room or
whole home for $79.00 with no additional charges. These scam type outfits rely on high-pressure sales tactics
to build the invoice once in your home. Many will have fine print
that conceals additional charges for preconditioning, rinsing, etc. A reputable company will provide a full, written quote before any cleaning begins and will be able to
explain what they will be doing in your home as well as what type of cleaning results to expect. A true business has legitimate expenses such as, cleaning solutions,
equipment, insurance, vehicles and employee wages. It is not reasonable to expect that they can afford to send out
a crew to professionally clean the carpet in your home for a few dollars. Think twice, ask questions and remember the
old adage, "You get what you pay for". Not exactly. Indoor air has been
proven in some cases to be up to 70% more polluted than
the outdoor air. Everyday airborne contaminants, smoke, dander, pollen, bacteria, dust
mites, allergens and the like are constantly becoming trapped in carpet, upholstery ,
drapes, and rugs. Cleaning these textiles routinely not only removes these contaminants
but also improves the indoor air quality you and your family breathe.
That's not true. All of the industry
standard carpet cleaning methods contains moisture in their
cleaning process, so in effect there is no such thing as true dry cleaning. The advantage of
the hot water extraction cleaning method (steam cleaning) is the fact that it involves an
extraction and flushing step. Think of shampooing your hair and not being able to rinse
the soap out. This is the same type of situation in regards to your carpet. Simply put, hot water
extraction cleaning will remove more soil than any other carpet cleaning method. More
than 100 carpet mills including Shaw industries (the largest manufacturer of carpet in
the world), recommend the hot water extraction cleaning method for overall performance
of their products.
