The following list contains some industry recommended interview questions you should ask every potential carpet cleaning firm before inviting them into your home.
Question 1 - Is you firm certified by the IICRC, (International Institute Of Cleaning And Restoration Certification), or any other trade association?
The IICRC is a nonprofit certifying body for the inspection, cleaning and restoration industry. The IICRC currently represents over 3,300 certified firms and 27,590 certified technicians in eleven countries. The IICRC, with participation from the entire industry, sets standards for inspection, cleaning and restoration. By only hiring IICRC certified cleaning technicians and firms you are ensuring that the formal training and education necessary to perform a professional job has been completed. FiberKing is certified by the IICRC.
Question 2 - What method of cleaning are you going to use in my home and what should I expect?
The cleaning technician should be knowledgeable on the different cleaning methods available and which one he/she will be using. There are four standard industry standard carpet cleaning methods. For more detailed information regarding these four methods visit our Frequently Asked Questions section.
Question 3 - Can you provide me with a copy of your charges and will these prices change?
A firm written quote should be provided before any work is completed. This invoice should not change unless you add additional items to the original work order. Beware of "bait & switch" type companies that may offer very low-priced carpet cleaning services or discount coupons that seem to good to be true. Many will have fine print that conceals additional charges for preconditioning, rinsing, etc. An ethical company will provide a full, written quote before any cleaning begins. Please visit our Costly Misconceptions section for additional information.
Question 4 - Do you guarantee your work?
A sign of an honest and ethical company is one that will guarantee their work in writing. The company should be prepared to correct any work that is not up to your satisfaction.

5 - Is your company insured and can you provide me with proof?Your home is one of your most valuable investments. It is imperative that the company provides proof of insurance before any work begins.
